Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
