Dominant Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Honors.

The tennis star celebrating a point
Aryna Sabalenka ended the year with an outstanding twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.

The 27-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.

A Season of High Performance

Across the season, Sabalenka competed in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the world number one, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Statistics

Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and earned a record £11m in prize money.

She garnered nearly 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
