Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats before the international break, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

West Ham's only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

A family member told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
