Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved television series like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for cancer since 2022, according to media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a statement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
