The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of claims about questionable actions towards women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
