Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A young child was among those injured in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
